As students, it’s crucial to prioritize, but it’s also important to know when to take a break and relax for a while. This post will go over some ways that you can find your work-school-life balance. Although this topic is different for all, this post will include some general tips:
1. Prioritize your time. You can create four categories of school work: (1) work that is urgent and important, (2) important but not urgent, (3) urgent but not important, (4) neither urgent nor important. These levels of priority will help space out your time to complete all of your tasks, with perhaps ample time left!
2. It might be helpful to know which environments you work best in. First, try working in a variety of environments, like social settings or in a study room. After reflecting on the environment type and how much work you've achieved, you now know what place(s) you are most productive in!
3. Leave spaces in your day to do things that you enjoy! This can boost both your productivity and your mental health.
4. Establish boundaries and know when to say no. For example, if you already have too much on your plate, and “someone asks you to do something extra,” clearly let them know that you have “too many commitments” and can’t do that for them.
5. Spend time with those who make you feel like your best self. This will help create a positive environment and, thus, a positive life.
6. Take care of your physical health by eating healthy, nutritious and fun meals, drinking water, exercising, etc.
7. Take care of your mental health. For example, consider journaling on a daily basis to express all sorts of feelings and just to vent.
